Portuguese brought coffee to Indonesia in the late sixteen hundreds
though the eighteen hundreds and coffee has been growing here ever
since. Indonesia is the forth largest producer
of coffee in the world. behind Brazil, Vietnam and Colombia.
With an geography that is ideal for growing coffee Indonesia has
numerous coffee bean growing areas including.
Sumatra - An island in the north west of the archipelago
Java - An island in the center of the archipelago and also the
island that the capital of Jakarta is located on.
Bali - An island east of Java know for its agriculture and tourism.
Sulawesi - Is an island located south of the Philippines and north
east of Bali.
From these areas we offer coffee including the following varieties.
Luak, Java, Sumatran,
Bali, Lintong, Toraja, Kalosi, Mandheling, Wamena, and Moaneman.
There are two types of coffee beans that are grown in Indonesia
C. canephora and C. arabica. C. canephora is generally used
for packaged products or in mixes like those for
express because of its flavor characteristics. Where C. arabica is
used for making fresh brewed drinks because of its delicate aromatic
characteristics.
